Chapter 2: One Piece, Three Ways

One Piece, Three Ways

In life, I get no greater joy than being able to style one piece of clothing for a number of different outfits, sad I know, but I love it. For this fashion post, I have chosen to style my cream H&M bodysuit for three different looks to show you how you can create a casual, smart and grungy look out of just one item.

Unfortunately, the bodysuit featured in this blog was part of the Winter collection but I have linked the Summer version below, which you can buy now as we step into Spring (honestly not what I intended but we here we go.)

Outfit 1: The Casual One

Channelling my inner Monica from Friends vibe, this 80s inspired outfit is a fun and casual way to style a plain, cream bodysuit. This bodysuit works well with an oversized shirt or even better a corduroy shirt to introduce another era of fashion, the 70s.

Thanks to the versatility of this bodysuit, you can partner it with skinny, straight leg, boot leg or any jeans of your choice. For those of you reading this and who know me well, it wouldn’t have been a surprise that I’d opted to wear this bodysuit with my favourite pair of slim fit mom jeans from Zara. The high waist and semi-slim fitting legs works well with the open corduroy shirt and the cream bodysuit lying underneath to accentuate your waist. I have really enjoyed wearing this outfit for meeting in the park with friends, having a coffee catch up or if I’m feeling a bit extra around my house.

Where to Buy:
Ribbed Turtleneck Body, £9.99 | H&M
Mom Jeans, £25.99 | Zara
Oversized Corduroy Shirt, £12.50 | Nasty Gal
Stan Smith Trainers, £75 | Adidas

Outfit 2: The Smart One

Minus the chunky Dr Marten’s, this outfit from head to toe is all courtesy of H&M. Before Christmas last year I had tried on this relaxed fit, checked suit and instantly fell in love with it.

The high waist, tailored trousers and oversized blazer work well together but can also be worn separately, which I have done on numerous occasions. The cream and red colours running throughout the suit match perfectly with the cream bodysuit, complementing each other.

This outfit clearly accentuates a smart look but also has a slightly edgy and tomboyish side which I thrive off. As a person who dresses predominately in very feminine outfits, it’s always refreshing to wear something slightly out of your comfort zone and channel your inner edgy side.

Where to Buy:
Ribbed Turtleneck Body, £9.99 | H&M
Checked Suit, £88 | Asos (similar suit)
Sinclair Arcadia Leather Boots, £179 | Dr Martens

Outfit 3: The Grungey One

Utility, military and cargo trousers still remain high in the trends from Winter venturing into the Spring season which is why I have decided to style my faux leather cargo trousers with the bodysuit.

I have always been a fan of mixing cream and maroon tones together as I truly believe they work so well together. The high waisted, faux leather trousers pair well the cream bodysuit to give a slightly grungy look to the bodysuit.

This look can be style in two ways giving it very different looks by just changing the foot attire. I have worn this look two ways, the first being with a pair of chunky Dr Marten platform boots which I have done for this post but also the outfit could be worn with a pair of camel coloured heeled boots to portray a more sophisticated outfit that could be worn for a day in the office.

Where to Buy:
Ribbed Turtleneck Body, £9.99 | H&M
Faux Leather Cargo Trousers, £49.99 | Zara
Sinclair Arcadia Platform Boots, £179 | Dr Martens
