Chapter 1: My Top 3 Beauty Buys

Three beauty products

Sensitive skin, dry skin to acne prone skin, I have been through it all. Daughter of a Mother whose skin radiates, glows and has skin soft to touch, I was lucky enough to implement and understand the importance of a skin care routine from an early age. From the daily use of cleansers, toners and teenage facials to kick start a healthy skin care routine, I have tried numerous amounts of beauty products but I have selected three below that really have made a difference to my routine.

1. The Cleanser

Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser

Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, £17 | Liz Earle

Seven years ago, I discovered a product that still remains a habitual part of my everyday skincare routine. After being heavily Influenced by my favourite YouTubers and friends, I finally received my very own Liz Earle skincare set for Christmas which included the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser.

What I love about this product is that not only does it remove stubborn makeup and daily grime, it comes with two pure cotton muslin clothes that allows your skin to undergo a daily gentle exfoliation, lifting away all those dead skin cells. Enriched with cocoa butter, the cream cleanser leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturised whilst also being toned and soothed with its chamomile and eucalyptus elements.

Liz Earle products have not only become a staple in my skin care routine but also in my family’s skin care routines as well, even my dad and brother! As a family who have eczema problems, the natural and moisturising ingredients in each product have helped alleviate those medical issues dramatically.

If you are a person with sensitive skin, oily skin or combination skin, this product is perfect for anyone. What is even better it’s not tested on animals and is suitable for vegetarians, so you feel guilt free whilst radiating brighter-looking skin. Use this product alongside the Instant Boost Tonic and Liz Earle Moisturiser to get the best results which is what I recommend doing.

I think it’s quite clear that I could keep raving more and more about this product so what I suggest any of you do is invest in this cleanser and really take time caring for your skin over the next month’s whilst in self-isolation.

2. The Balm

Dr.PAWPAW Lip Balm

Tinted Ultimate Red Balm, £6.95 | Dr.PAWPAW

The Dr.PAWPAW tinted balm is a very recent addition to my skincare collection and I just love it. Made in the UK from a multitude of natural ingredients including the fruit of the plant Carica Papaya, this balm leaves my dehydrated lips feeling hydrated after application. Not only can this balm be used to quench your lips thirst, it can also be used on your knuckles, elbows and any dry area of the body you might have due to its natural healing qualities.

What is so magical about this product is that not only does it act as a lip balm, the red tint also allows you to be able to use it as a cheek tint or also as a cream eyeshadow. This cruelty free, fragrance free and vegan product is available to buy in a beautiful peach tint and a clear balm for anyone who doesn’t want an extra pop.

3. The Eye Cream

Youth Dose Eye Treatment, £37 | Kiehl’s

Implementing an eye cream into your skincare routine from a young age is vital. However, in all honesty I never truly understood the importance of using an eye cream at a young age until very recently. To me I associate using an eye cream with the intention of eliminating wrinkles and dark circles, something of which I don’t suffer from… well not just yet. After listening to a work colleague who religiously applies eye cream, I thought I would bite the bullet and invest in a youthful eye cream to see what all the fuss was about.

I took to Instagram and the internet to research around what the best eye creams on the market are whilst also weighing up how much I was willing to invest. I had always heard such great reviews about the Kiehl’s eye creams which is what led me to invest in the Youth Dose Eye Treatment.

This hydrating eye cream that I apply morning and evening instantly smooths and brightens the skin under my eyes leaving me with a youthful appearance. This eye cream has Pro-Retinol, Vitamin C and grape seed extract to help reduce under-eye lines, dark circles and puffiness. After using the product for just a day, I noticed such a difference already.

What I love so much about this product is how lightweight it feels under my eyes as it’s absorbed quickly and smoothly. The creamy texture of the cream still makes it feel luxurious and is great for any age group. I have been using this eye cream for a few months now and highly recommend investing in this. Even though I use this eye cream every day I still have so much remaining as all you need to use is a small pea sized amount to quench the thirst under your eyes.
